About UsThe Egialian Association of Melbourne and Victoria Inc. is a social club based at Egialian House in Wantirna, Melbourne Victoria. The Association’s goal has not waivered since it was created back in 1965 to support families emigrating from the region of Aigialeia, Greece to adapt to their new home by providing an environment that promoted the importance of the Hellenic culture. Today, through functions, gatherings and traditional events and with a strong commitment to engage the next and all future generations, their extended families and friends, we work tirelessly towards our vision for the future….. “To promote the historical significance of our region and develop Hellenic social ethnic and cultural relationships among all Egialians, their descendants, the wider Greek and broader community of Victoria.” Read More | ![]() |

We annually support worthy and important organisations that serve the community both here and in Greece. Locally there is The Royal Children’s Hospital and Pronia among others and abroad we are proud sponsors of the children’s orphanage “The Smile of the Child” (ΤΟ ΧΑΜΟΓΕΛΟ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΙΔΙΟΥ) located in Temeni. The Association also offers educational grants for schools in Greece and strongly supports special causes such as the Earthquake appeal of 1995 after an earthquake devastated the northern part of the Peloponnesus and the appeal for the forest fires that devastated similar areas in 2007. |
Spreading our message and preserving our historyThe Association recognises the importance of growing our club so we can continue to promote Hellenic culture for future generations. While the majority of our members are Egialian the club welcomes new members that are from other regions of Greece and friends of our members who enjoy the opportunity to be involved in the cultural experience. The club is a current member of the Achaean Federation and the Peloponnesian Confederation, through this we can draw support from other communities in this common goal to keep Hellenic tradition alive. We actively network with all tiers of government, the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) and participate in cultural activities to help us educate the wider community about our heritage, culture and traditions. Members receive quarterly newsletters encouraging them to participate in the events and functions and we keep members up to date with all things “Egialian” through our face book page.
